Types of Bedpans:

1. Standard Bedpan:

   • This is the traditional design, typically made from plastic or stainless steel. It has a shallow, concave shape that fits under the patient’s body while they remain in bed.

   • Standard bedpans are used for both urination and defecation. They come in various sizes, depending on the needs of the patient.

2. Fracture Bedpan:

   • Designed specifically for patients with fractures or mobility issues, the fracture bedpan is shallower on one side, making it easier for patients to position themselves without excessive movement.

   • The slanted design allows for more comfortable positioning and reduces strain on individuals with limited mobility.

3. Commode Bedpan:

   • This type has a design that makes it more comfortable to use, often used in conjunction with a commode chair. It is designed for individuals who need assistance transferring from the bed to the commode chair, but still require the bedpan for use.

4. Urinal Bedpan:

   • A dual-purpose bedpan that is typically used for male patients. It combines a bedpan and urinal, offering convenience for patients who have both urinary and bowel needs.
