   ECG electrodes are small, adhesive pads used to attach to the skin to detect the electrical activity of the heart. These electrodes are connected to an ECG electro-cardiogrammachine, which records the heart’s electrical signals. The resulting ECG provides valuable information about the heart’s rhythm, rate, and overall function, helping healthcare providers diagnose conditions like arhythmias, heart attacks, and other heart-related problems.

Key Features of ECG Electrodes:

1. Conductivity: ECG electrodes contain conductive gel or material that ensures a good connection between the skin and the electrode, allowing the electrical signals from the heart to be picked up effectively.

2. Adhesive Backing: The electrodes have an adhesive layer that helps them stay securely attached to the skin during the procedure, whether for a short-term test in a hospital or longer monitoring.

3. Size and Shape: ECG electrodes come in different sizes and shapes, but they are typically small, round, or square pads. The size is designed to fit comfortably on the skin, typically on the chest, arms, and legs.

4. Disposable or Reusable:

   • Disposable Electrodes: Most ECG electrodes are designed for single use to prevent cross-contamination and ensure hygiene. After the ECG is completed, the electrodes are removed and discarded.
   • Reusable Electrodes: Some electrodes can be cleaned and reused, though these are less common and are typically used for long-term monitoring.
