Stitching Set

A suture set is a collection of surgical instruments used for suturing wounds or incisions. It’s commonly used in medical, veterinary, or field settings where wound closure is required. A basic suture set typically includes the following tools:

 Basic Instruments in a Suture Set:

1. Needle Holder (or Needle Driver) – Used to hold and guide the suture needle.

2. Tissue Forceps (with or without teeth) – Used to hold and manipulate tissue.

3. Scissors – Usually surgical scissors like:

   • Mayo scissors for cutting tough tissue.

   • Metzenbaum scissors for delicate tissue.

   • Suture scissors or Lister scissors for cutting sutures.

4. Scalpel Handle and Blade – Often included for initial incisions (may vary).

5. Suture Material – Absorbable or non-absorbable, with or without needles.

6. Gauze Pads – For cleaning and absorbing fluids.

7. Hemostats (e.g., Mosquito forceps) – To control bleeding or hold small structures.

8. Sterile Drapes – To maintain a clean field.

Optional Additions:

• Adson forceps – For more delicate handling.

• Retractors – To hold tissue back and expose the area.

• Local Anesthetic and Syringe – For numbing the area before suturing.
